History
The Michigan Branch was founded in 1963 by Dr. Bennett J. Cohen, who was also the first branch president and helped co-found National AALAS. Back in 1963 the membership dues were $2. Over the last several decades the branch has be able to keep dues relatively low and it is only $15 today. It truly is a tremendous investment.
The Michigan Branch is a part of the AALAS District V (www.district5aalas.org) along with Indiana, Central Ohio, Southern Ohio, and Kentucky. Every year one branch of District V hosts an educational meeting. The Michigan branch will be honored to host the district meeting again in 2020.
MI-AALAS continues to thrive by offering networking and educational opportunities to its members.
